We have to use other tools to manage our Windows and Android devices. #JAMF PRO SHARED IPAD MAC#We'd that option available for Mac." "It will be very helpful if we could restore users after they have been removed from Jamf because I have some cases of deleting a computer before unlocking it." "The on-going improvements & innovation that Jamf provides over time is something that needs to be maintained, as it is what is needed to fulfill a business & team need at the right time." "Jamf Pro currently is only used on Mac computers and could improve by having compatibility with other operating systems. A mobile app to complement the web-based version, to perform specific tasks, would be nice to have - a good example of what I mean is the "Pulseway" MDM for Windows, they have a very useful and user-friendly mobile app." "For Windows, we have a reset option. "I would like to see either a report section or an integration with a new reporting module to allow us to pull real metrics from the system easily." "The product is pretty good as-is, but if anything could be improved I would say the UI could perhaps be a bit simpler. This allows users to have an out of box experience." There's no jumping around multiple UI's to do your overall management." "It is a very stable and scalable cloud-only solution." "The most valuable features are the ones that make sure that the deployment is of a standard operating system and the Zero Touch deployment, which is very useful. That is the most important part." "It works pretty well for us." "The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities." "The solution is easy to use and it has good performance." "I would say the biggest benefit is the single-pane view. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. We have installed Intune to control the user's environment minimizing the chances of any hacking." "I can reach devices or computers over the internet. "By using Microsoft Intune we can control which websites the users can go to and it provides a secure environment for our employees using their laptops that are having access from home. However, it is more expensive than Microsoft Intune. Its ease of deployment, its solid set of features, and its service and support all top Microsoft Intune’s offerings.

Now 21 years after the first democratic elections SA has returned to being a primarily one-party state, and while all citizens have the vote the minority group in SA is no longer the Africans, or even the Indo-Asians, nor those of mixed race people, but rather the Caucasian group that find themselves in a state of poverty that they haven’t felt since the Boer War.īut its an unfortunate truth that there were many of these same families in poverty under the National Party as there are now under the governance of the ANC. The NP had lauded it over South Africa for 18 years before the border wars started and only 12 years before the ANC and the PAC joined forces after the Sharpeville massacre, and it was 41 years later that the white regime fell in SA almost at the same time as communism failed in the USSR. The NP represented everything I disagreed with (other than FW De Klerk emancipating Mandela), but while I agreed with the ANC regarding the need for total democracy I did not agree with the methodology that the ANC supporters had used on its opponents. So the true idea of democracy was thrown out of the window as there could be no truly representational government when one group is almost enforced to vote against what they really believed in to achieve a political harmony and smooth transition. The first time I voted in South Africa, was like every black South African……in the 1994 elections…….and I couldn’t vote for policies or even on popularity I had to choose to vote for a party I dislike immensely among about 20+ different parties that had all come out to have their policies voted on in the first really democratic election.īut a vote for any of those other parties, other than the ANC or the National Party (NP) would have meant a non-coalition government and SA needed something more tempered at the beginning of the process, and only solid voting numbers for one or two parties – the ANC literally had it in the bag with more than 50% of the voters voting not only for democracy but showering support and loyalty to a man that had spent 27 years in jail trying to achieve that aim. In South Africa in the 1980s, regardless of age or gender if you had been in the country longer than 5 years you were automatically naturalised – this was to ensure more young men could be drafted into the military services to keep the northern SA borders safe from both the “Swart gevaar” and the “Commies”. ![]() In most countries immigrants can choose the right to become a citizen and in some cases hold dual citizenship for their new and home countries. I left the UK in the 1960s when the cry of the British was “look out the Paki’s are coming”….and….”there goes the neighbourhood” and arrived in South Africa to cries of “bewaar die Swart gevaar” (loosely translated meaning – warning, here comes the Black danger) echoes of news reports with comments like “beware of the Reds” or the “Commies are coming”. ![]() But this enjoyment is set in stark contrast to how many of the indigenous people of the country you have just immigrated to are treated. However you can usually own property, get a job and enjoy all the other freedoms that said country will provide as a ‘human’ right. While your parents may be of voting age most countries require that you become a citizen of the country before you or your children get the voting right. Being an immigrant in a new country as a child and non-voter there is very little one has to say about the governance of the country that you have just immigrated to. ![]() ![]() ![]() This war actually was quite traumatizing to famed primatologist Jane Goodall. The Gombe Chimpanzee was a conflict that took place from 1974-1978 with mass casualties on both sides. This is the first interspecies primate war ever seen but not the first Chimpanzee war ever recorded. Gorillas are gentle giants that spend their day foraging and lounging, while chimps have been known to engage in advanced almost military-like conflict with other groups. Primatologists have always commented that Chimps are much more warlike than Gorillas. It's hard to imagine that the larger Gorillas would be overpowered by the Chimps but the Chimps vastly outnumbered the Gorillas. The researchers commented that the two species were sometimes playful and relaxed toward each other but one day the chimpanzees went "Apeshit" and decided to go on a murder rampage on an outnumbered group of gorillas. The belt stretches from southern Senegal through central Africa to western Tanzania. On July 22nd researchers in the Loango National Park observed a violent encounter between a troop of Chimpanzees and a band of Gorillas. Today conservation figures put the number of chimpanzees in what is known as the chimpanzee belt at about 300,000. The chimpanzee attacks in Kasooha sound familiar across much of equatorial Africa where the primates once roamed freely in their millions. Conservationists fear this could destroy tourism activities that directly depend on wild ape populations like gorilla, baboons and chimpanzee. The primary threats to chimpanzees in recent years have been habitat destruction (deforestation), logging, hunting and disease.Īll these are blamed on the rapid human population growth. Ugandan conservationists estimate that Uganda has about 5000 chimpanzee in the wild, mainly in western Uganda. “The forest used to host chimps, they could sleep and also get their food there but now chimps are on the constant search for new places to stay.” “As communities we are paying the price for the encroachers like Kinyara sugar Works who cleared the 40 sq km Rwebitela forest reserve for sugar cane farming,” he says. The incident happened 10 years ago in 2009 but Mugurusi recalls it like it happened yesterday.īaguma Moses, who neighbours Mugurusi, blames the chimpanzee behaviour towards them to Kinyara Sugar Works, which he says, destroyed a forest that was home to most of the chimps. “They simply said we had disturbed the chimpanzees and that the penalty for killing a chimpanzee ranges between 10 to 15 years in prison, so we had to give up,” Mugurusi recalls. But Mugurusi says they did not receive much help. The baby’s body was taken to the nearby Masindi Hospital for a postmortem to confirm cause of death and evidence to seek justice from the national conservation agency-the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Mugurusi says his grandchild died instantly. When the noise intensified, the chimp dropped the baby. ![]() Armed with sticks, clubs and pangas, they mounted a search but the chimp climbed a tree with the baby. She raised an alarm that attracted neighbours in nearby gardens. ![]() Mugurusi, 76, says her daughter had no chance of rescuing the baby on her own. It jumped from its hideout, grabbed the baby, and dashed into the bush. Unknown to her, a chimpanzee in a nearby thicket was watching, and monitoring her movements. She placed the seven-month-old baby under a shed as she started working. Mugurusi’s daughter had gone to her garden on the forest edge. Issa Isingoma Mugurusi belongs to another group – of indirect sufferers of chimp attacks. Unlike most of her peers who go to school, she has not gone to school. She was lucky to live but the ape bit her and left her with permanent memory loss. She was only four at the time and was home alone when the chimpanzee pounced. Mariam Mirungi, 14, tells the story of how she fought a chimpanzee. They tell stories of how they have wrestled a chimpanzee and survived. Many residents have horror stories involving the chimps. They eat their crops, attack children and women, and make life hard for humans. The large apes are terrorising residents. However, he insists that the Targa shell was a better concession: “The PS Spyder was never intended to be a Caterham chaser, it doesn’t compromise all of its comfort and ease-of-use in pursuit of light weight”. Stephens admits that basing the car on an earlier coupé could have dropped the mass down further, to around 800kg. These changes, along with some extensive steel-for-aluminium swappage on the car’s bodywork, bring the weight down to 950kg. Stephens sacrificed the front and rear screens, roll hoops and the majority of the heater system, and also replaced the car’s hefty original bumpers with some composite parts which he fabricated himself. Understanding the Spyder formula is simple – low weight, low drag, little or no windscreen and no roof – however, executing it is a little more difficult. Weighing in at 1300kg, it needed to be put on a strict diet to have a chance of emulating its namesake: the Spyder moniker has only been applied to lightweight, open-top sports cars, beginning with the 1953 Porsche 550 and continuing today in the form of the 2010 Boxster Spyder. The donor car fortunate enough to be selected by Stephens began life as a 1989 3.2-litre Targa.
